Located in Johannesburg, South Africa, Giyani’s Demo Plant was built at a 1:10 scale to the planned Commercial Plant and has successfully proven concept by the production of both HPMO and HPMSM.
As the largest known Demo Plant outside of China, it is helping to continuously optimize and validate the flowsheet, inform the DFS, develop operating procedures and train staff while implementing safety systems to de-risk commercial scale development.
- SCALE: 1:10 compared to the planned Commercial Plant with production capacity of up to 600kg per day of HPMSM, the largest known demo plant outside of China
- OFFTAKER QUALIFICATION: The Demo Plant successfully enabled early offtaker testing of Giyani’s HPMO and HPMSM product. Our HPMO has passed Phase 1 qualification and received positive interim results from Phase 2 with Charge CCCV, validating its quality
- OPTIMIZATION: The Demo Plant operations have enabled further optimization and validation of the flowsheet
- DE-RISKING: Learnings from the Demo Plant have been integrated into the DFS, materially de-risking commercial plant development
